Welcome to my Home Business web site, I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to read
what I have to say, I promise not to waste your time with hype, misleading information & empty promises.
You can read my previous rant here: Jim Ranting and
don't forget to check out my Blog before you go.
I have been earning a living online since 2000 and I couldn't imaging doing anything else. I create multiple
income streams for my business with Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Direct Selling and owning my own Membership Sites.
I have learned this business from some of the True Icons in Network Marketing and the best Marketers in
the world. I have created wonderful relationships, built a strong reputation and of course enjoy the lifestyle
that only working for yourself can provide.
This site is "Home Base" for my business, it showcases my primary income streams, they may be businesses
that you want to get involved with, I of course think you will, but everything is not for everyone and you
really should only join home business opportunities that you feel are right for you, not because of
any sales copy, hype, promises of riches, spillover or whatever people like to claim they are
going to do for you.
The decision to sign up for any business, has to be based on the facts and your own personal feeling about
the business, if you do not feel strongly about the business, for whatever reason, the compensation plan
the product or service, the long term grown and stability of the company, then you will not be able to
convince anyone to sign up with you. Sales in anything, including network marketing is having another
person take on your belief. If your belief in the opportunity is strong enough, then you will be able
to convince many others to take on your belief in that opportunity. If you just signed up because of
an eMail you got from a successful person who hyped you into signing up, then after a week or two when
the excitement wears off, you won't actually have a strong belief in the opportunity since you joined
for the wrong reason and you won't have any success.
Success or failure in your business depends on you, when I say your business, I don't mean a particular
business opportunity, I mean your business overall, you may not make any money in a particular income
opportunity, but your business as a whole should be making money and again, that all comes down to you.
A recommendation from someone you trust who is successful is invaluable when making a decision, but you also
need to go on your own fact finding mission, make sure the compensation plan really is as good as people
claim it to be, I could twist and turn the description of any compensation plan and make it sound good
and the potential of most is always impressive, but is the plan really any good or more importantly,
really any good for you. A compensation plan that is appealing to someone that knows they can sign up
a bunch of people, reach all the qualifications and levels, may not be ideal for you if you are only
going to sign up 5 new members.
I could go on and on about compensation plans and the fact that most are really bad for 95% of the
people that join them. They have too many qualifications, too many bonuses, too many "IFs", and
most of the time, they simply do not pay out enough.
The main problem in the Network Marketing industry is not all the reasons most hot shots are teaching,
they create these false beliefs so that they can then sell you a product or service that claims to
fix what they say the problem is. Not having a big enough list, not having the right mind-set, not
having sales skills, not having enough money, not having enough time, not having a system, not having
the right sponsor, not having a mentor, members leave too fast, not joining with a good group, following all the wrong
people, joining too many things, not knowing how to market.
That's a big list and that's not even considering all of the issues that companies cause us with
bad management, bad decisions, bad support, etc.
It all plays a part, all of those issues contribute to your success or failure, however, the real
reason why most people fail in the Network Marketing industry is BAD COMPENSATION PLANS. Plain
and simple, you just don't earn enough for your efforts. You are not paid enough per person. You
have to jump through too many hoops to earn any real money. Too much money is earmarked for bonuses
and extras, that most people will never qualify for, so the very few make most of the income in any
one company and the rest are just along for the ride, making those few and the company rich.
The "gurus" don't tell you this because they can't sell you a product that fixes the problem and
it really doesn't help get sign ups for whatever business they may be working.
The problem is that the Professional Network Marketers continue to join and promote companies that
have bad compensation plans. So, if you were a company or starting a company, you would have no
reason to create a compensation plan that was any better than the others, since we have all accepted
the fact that pay plans are bad and that's the way it is.
Of course we all like to spin the pay plan description in such a way that makes it sound good, the
company does it, those that sign up with that company do it and it makes everyone feel better about it.
With all of the competition now a days, with the availability of information, the sheer amount of opportunities
that we have to pick from, I can't understand why people seem to not be able to admit to the fact that this
business, like any other business, is about Money, we do it to make money and yet, we seem to want to pretend
that money is at the bottom of the list of why we do Network Marketing. There aren't many businesses that do that,
maybe the health care industry, maybe politicians, maybe colleges, I'm sure there are others, but it's really
very few that feel the need to pretend that it's not about the money. I've never done it and I decided years
ago that I was sick of the horrible pay plans and just wouldn't play with those companies, it's easy, I don't
join so called income opportunities that have bad compensation plans unless unless they had something that
I really wanted and then I just said, I think this product or service is wonderful and that is why I signed up.
If you don't understand compensation plans, learn them, ask someone, study them, figure out just what you
have to do in order to earn the amount of money that you need, not the dream income, the need income. Take into
account what others will also have to do in order for you to achieve that goal, don't forget about qualifications,
figure out the percent per person that is being paid out overall by the company and the percent you will get
for each person on each level in your downline.
If you need too many people, that's not good. If the company is paying out less than 60%, then the product better
really make you feel good. If there are just too many qualifications, group volumes, personal sponsoring qualifications
that you know are too high, if too much money is put towards bonuses, matching bonuses or hot shot bonuses for those
that reach amazing qualification levels, then that's too much money taken away from the main part of the pay plan
that most people will never get since most people will earn the income that's built into the main part of the pay plan, not all of the "extras".
If you need to have 4 gold members, 3 bronze, 2 silver and 1 elite president global master
in your downline, but not all in one leg and not all within the ages of 20 & 60 and they must be from at least 5
different countries, then you know you are going to have trouble making any money because you are fighting a losing
battle against the company, whose supposed to be your biggest asset but in many cases is your worst enemy.
Just keep in mind, the #1 reason people fail in this industry is bad pay plans, they don't make enough money to
cover the monthly fee or their marketing or just to keep them interested, for the amount of money, time and effort
they are spending. Hey, if you aren't doing anything, then you get what you deserve, but if you are working and
have a growing organization then you should be compensated accordingly.
Now for the good stuff.
I currently promote and recommend businesses, products and services that will help you build your business, these
are generic marketing services, training, social networks, etc. You can find those that I recommend on the side bar.
I have finally, after 2 years of searching, found a primary business that I can get passionate about.
Over the past few months, I have gotten involved in a few, just to check them out. One was a total scam, whoops,
one overpromised and delivered nothing of value, one kept changing the pay plan and had horrible products which I
purchased and did try and the last one, which I didn't join but spent a lot of time checking out, wanted their reps
to market only locally, have home meetings and attend numerous meetings per week, it's a huge company and happens
to be local to me, which was great, however, I'm not trying to jump back in time to 1990, which is where there
marketing is or at least what they are teaching their reps, at the same time, they have a marketing dept. that
takes up almost an entire floor of their office building, I will bet their job is not to set up meetings in their
homes. Sort of the old, do what we say, not what we do.
Anyway, I only tell you this so that you will know what I've been going through, that I really do search out, check
out and weed out before I decide on a primary business to represent. I may promote some add-ons here or there, just
quick little recommendations, not to be confused with the company you are really going to get into business with,
spend most of your time and energy on, really focus on, the business that does provide you with most of your income.
This is a decision that should not be taken lightly, not by anyone. I know there are many marketers whose business
it is just to promote whatever the hottest deal of the day happens to be, that's fine for them, that is their business,
but that's not really for me, I've done that at times over my 11 years in this industry and didn't enjoy it very much
and found no personal satisfaction in it, so I prefer to have a primary Network Marketing company to focus my energy on.
The company I have decided to represent is Global Travel Network, it happens to be new, but that was not a plus or minus to
me, I don't care if a company is new so long as I trust the people behind the company and those that recommended it to me.
The industry is travel. I happen to love that product/service, not just because I love to travel but because it's not
a nutritional product, which I think has saturated the market and I really don't want to compete in that area. My juice is
better than your pill is better than your spray is better than your water doesn't really interest me at all.
The compensation plan blew me away completely. As you have read above and if you already know me then you know that the
compensation plan is the first thing that I normally destroy, since most are bad even if people don't realize it. This
one isn't just good, it's really, really good. The money is on the table and not just for the heavy hitters, it's there
for anyone that goes to work. It's fair, it's rewarding, it's got upfront money and residual income, it's got bonuses
and incentives and it's got the bells and whistles that the pro's want and need, but also money in the basic plan, which
is the true income potential for most. Again, I am very pleased with this compensation plan and if I like it, most people
will love it since I'm the worst critic of compensation plans that I know of online.
The price point was right. It has a small upfront fee, which is something most companies have now, a couple hundred bucks,
but this is necessary if you want to make any decent upfront income. Then a small $50 a month fee to stay in the business.
The $50 a month is actually really low for any serious Network Marketing company, most will range between $100 - $150 a month
so I am also very happy about that. It comes down to this, can most people afford to get involved and are you comfortable
marketing that price point. I think most people can afford to get into this business and I am very comfortable representing
a business in this price range, so it works out perfectly for me.
I got involved with a team. I'm not going to say just yet exactly what the team will provide, but I am confident they will be
active, supportive and successful. As I've said before, "Who you join with is just as important as what you join", so make
sure you get in with a good team no matter what you join. I did exactly that.
Check out the Lock Your Spot site, it's free right now, of course everyone will have to pay when they go love, but you can sign up
